CD 100 Introduction to Child Development

Overview of the field of early childhood education, including the historical foundations, types of programs, different educational philosophies, and current standards of practice. This course introduces local, state, and national agencies and organizations that regulate and guide current practice in early childhood programs as well as the importance of Developmentally Appropriate Practices when working with young children. It also explores ethics, career paths, and professional growth for early childhood educators.
