Associate in Arts in Music for Transfer (AA-T) Degree
The Associate in Arts-Transfer (AA-T) degree in Music at Crafton Hills College is designed to meet the needs of students transferring to a California State University who intend to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree.
Major/Program Requirements
Required Core Courses:
MUSIC 141X4 must be taken four times for a total of 2 units.
Required Ensemble Courses:
Students must complete four (4) units from the following courses
Ensemble courses may be taken in any combination to total four (4) units.
Required List A Course:
Total Credit Hours: 22.00
IGETC is the only approved general education pattern for this degree.

A student receiving a degree in this field will be able to:

Demonstrate the ability to read and write standard notation: Demonstrate the ability to read and perform. Demonstrate ability to construct a Baroque chorale style harmonic progression.

Demonstrate the ability to analyze music: Given a Bach chorale (or similar), demonstrate the ability to analyze harmonic concepts.

Sight sing and dictate melodic and harmonic progressions: Demonstrate through proficiency exam the ability to sight sing melodies and intervals to the octave.

Perform at a College Level: Demonstrate through jury, ensemble performance, and/or recital the ability to play literature from the Western canon.
