ESL/N 601 ESL Beginning Level 1

This non-credit course is designed to introduce low-intermediate English language learners to phonetic sounds, intonations, and academic vocabulary, sentence, and paragraph patterns. Students will start using academic English to speak and write about themselves, their families, and their communities. There is an emphasis in developing introductory academic strategies (grounded in rhetoric), habits, and communication practices to develop well-thought ideas, both orally and written.
