ESL/N 601 Multilingual Literacy 1

ESL/N 601 is the first course in a four-course non credit English as a Second Language series designed to develop learners’ everyday English proficiency and academic literacies. Course may be repeated. Refines and expands basic English language skills for language learners. Builds on reading, written, and listening, and verbal skills to enhance learners' language abilities in everyday English. Learners read short fiction and non fiction texts to demonstrate comprehension; develop pre reading strategies, write multi-paragraph compositions, including descriptions and summaries; perform basic computer tasks such as checking/responding to email, navigating LMS/WebAdvisor, and using Zoom, perform basic word processing (Word/Google Doc).
