CNA/N 626 Home Health Aide Clinical
This noncredit course focuses on the application of the fundamental principles of basic nursing care necessary to meet the hygiene, comfort, and safety needs of residents in the home. The identification and reporting of resident abuse along with development of skills in communication and interpersonal relations will be discussed. The role of the HHA as part of the health care team and practice of skills to safely function independently in the home environment are highlighted. The course follows the guidelines established by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Successful completion of the course does not ensure certification, which is obtained through the CDPH. Application and related forms are provided at the information session.

Prerequisites: Limitation on Enrollment: Must attend a mandatory information session. Once provisionally accepted, must attend a mandatory orientation, and meet all health requirements. Must be 16 years or older. No high school or GED required. Must be co-enrolled with CNA/N-624 and CNA/N-625. Students must have an active CNA certificate with the state of CA. OR have completed the Crafton Hills College CNA program within 1 month of start of HHA (waives requirement of active CNA cert).
