EDU 290 Introduction to Elementary Education

This course examines the evolution of education in the United States with a view to the philosophical foundations, historical trends, government involvement, law, and pedagogical movements. This course will also explore teacher preparation, education theory, multiculturalism, school reforms, safe schools, and controversial matters such as student rights, unions, and funding.
