PSYCH 120 Statistics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences
The use of probability techniques, hypothesis testing, and predictive techniques to facilitate decision making. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance; chi square and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Applications using data from disciplines including the social sciences, health care and education. Focuses on practical application in these fields, as opposed to the MATH 110 which approaches these topics with a firmer grounding in the principles of mathematics. *MATH 108, MATH 110, PSYCH 108, PSYCH 120, maximum UC credit, one course.
