EMS 026 Emergency Responder
An Emergency Medical Responder is the first medically trained professional to serve as a vital link in the chain of health care providers that arrive on scene of an emergency. This course is designed for those that are interested in the pre hospital/hospital field as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Room Technician, Paramedic, Firefighter or Law Enforcement.

Prerequisites: None
Lecture: Minimum 40 hours per semester
Laboratory: Minimum 24 hours per semester
Departmental Recommendation: Basic understanding of the Emergency Medical Field and good dexterity, coordination, ability to work in confined spaces and in unstable unpredictable environments.
