ASL 102 American Sign Language II

Continuing introduction to American Sign Language as used by the Deaf community in the United States. Study of a more advanced vocabulary of approximately 400 additional signs, ASL sentence structures and social conventions involved in ASL. Discussion of Deaf Culture, norms, and values. NOTE: This course corresponds to the second year of high school American Sign Language and may require attendance to Deaf community events.

Lecture: Minimum 64 hours per semester

Departmental Recommendation: Eligibility for ENGL 101. Concurrent or previous enrollment in ASL 115.
