Alleviate Substandard Grade by Course Repetition
A student who receives a substandard grade (“D” or “F”) in a course at Crafton Hills College may repeat that course at another institution and have the substandard grade alleviated from the computation of the student's GPA.
- Each course in which a substandard grade has been earned may be repeated twice (maximum of three attempts).
- If a course has already been repeated two times, the course is not eligible for alleviation by course repetition and will remain on the academic record.
- The repeated course content must be equivalent to the original course, and have a unit value that is equivalent or higher.
- A course in which a grade of “C” or better was received may not be repeated and will not be alleviated.
- When courses are repeated under this procedure, the permanent academic record shall be annotated in such a manner that the record of all work remains legible, ensuring a true and complete academic record. Crafton Hills College transcripts will be annotated to indicate the institution and term when the course was repeated.
- No more than two substandard grades may be alleviated.
