CHEM 212 Organic Chemistry I
This is the first semester of a one-year course in organic chemistry with lab intended for majors in the natural sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics, and pre-medicine). Examines carbon compounds including structure, nomenclature, functional groups, reactivity, synthesis, and reaction mechanisms. Spectroscopy and modern theoretical concepts studied. Laboratory includes preparation, identification, and the study of properties of organic compounds. (C-ID CHEM 150, C-ID CHEM 160S course one of two)
