Technical Theatre Certificate of Achievement

This certificate provides for a technical theatre focus for students within the Crafton Hills College Theatre Program that allows them to obtain certifications and seek immediate industry.

Required Courses:

THART 100 or THART 100H	Introduction to Theatre	3.00
THART 145	Advanced Theatre Practicum I	3.00
THART 134X4	Technical Theatre Workshop	1.00

Note: Only one (1) unit of THART 134X4 is required.

Students must complete twelve 12 additional units from the following courses

THART 122	Sound for Stage and Screen	3.00
THART 123	Lighting Design Fundamentals	3.00
THART 129	Fundamentals of Costume Design	3.00
THART 164	Fundamentals of Scenic Design	3.00
THART 165	Fundamentals of Stage Makeup	3.00

Total Credit Hours: 19

A student receiving a certificate in this field will be able to:

• Interpret the needs of productions and create design plans through a creative revision process.
• Display competency in a variety of technical theatre skills, including but not limited to: Costuming, Makeup, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management, Scenic Design and other skills which are vital to the operation of theaters.
• Structure a professional portfolio of work to present to prospective employers.
