ESL/N 604 Multilingual Literacy 4

ESL/N 604 is the last course in a four-course noncredit English as a Second Language series designed to develop learners’ everyday English proficiency and academic literacies. Course may be repeated. For advanced learners of the English language. Learners build on advanced English skills and vocabulary as well as apply critical thinking in navigating a variety of everyday English and academic contexts. Learners will read and analyze a variety of texts, including book length work and 1-2 academic articles; develop the practice of reading texts closely and focus on significant details and patterns by noticing rhetorical and stylistic choices of authors; write clear, well-organized, and well-developed compositions, including multimodal composition, that integrate the ideas of others while appropriately crediting the original authors and maintaining academic integrity; conduct advanced library searches; enhance computer and tech literacies; continue to learn about campus services and resources as well as gain more opportunities to participate in the larger campus culture and beyond.
