Applying for Financial Aid

Students who need financial assistance to pay for college should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is important to submit the FAFSA on time and contact the Financial Aid Office for current deadlines. The FAFSA is typically available from October 1 through June 30 and can be completed online at www.fafsa.gov. Students who are not eligible for the FAFSA application and meet the AB 540 residency requirements may complete the California Dream application online at dream.csac.ca.gov.

After submitting the FAFSA, students should log in to their Financial Aid Self-Service account and complete any required “action items.” The Financial Aid Self-Service view is typically available within 3-5 business days after submission. All students, new and continuing, must review their Financial Aid Self-Service account each academic year.

Financial aid awards are issued once a student’s file is complete and verified. To receive funds, students must be Title IV eligible, including meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, being actively enrolled in eligible coursework, and having a completed file at the time of disbursement.

The Financial Aid Office is available to assist students with the application process and answer questions online, in person, or by phone appointment.
