ASL 102 American Sign Language II
Continuing introduction to American Sign Language as used by the deaf community in the United States. Study of a more advanced vocabulary of approximately 400 additional signs, ASL sentence structures and social conventions involved in ASL. Discussion of the history of deaf education and the deaf community through present times as well as effect of technological developments upon the deaf community and deaf individuals. Note: This course corresponds to the second year of high school American Sign Language.
