Discipline - Specific Degrees

Discipline-specific degrees are designed for students who wish to gain knowledge and skills in a specific field. Students will need to complete CHC’s general education requirements to earn these degrees. The discipline-specific courses may not prepare students for transferring into a major at a four-year college.

Associate of Arts Degrees

1. Completion of the requirements for an associate degree (see requirements 1 through 6).
2. Completion of a minimum of eighteen (18) units with at least a “C” (2.0) or better in each course in one of the following discipline-specific programs. (Refer to the particular discipline for requirements for each major.)
   
   American Sign Language - Associate of Arts Degree
   Anthropology - Associate of Arts Degree
   Arabic - Associate of Arts Degree
   Art - Associate of Arts Degree
   Child Development - Associate of Arts Degree
   Communication - Associate of Arts Degree
   English - Associate of Arts Degree
   History - Associate of Arts Degree
   Japanese - Associate of Arts Degree 
   Music - Associate of Arts Degree
   Mathematics - Associate of Arts Degree
   Philosophy - Associate of Arts Degree
   Political Science - Associate of Arts Degree
   Psychology - Associate of Arts Degree
   Religious Studies - Associate of Arts Degree
   Sociology - Associate of Arts Degree
   Spanish - Associate of Arts Degree 
   Theatre Arts - Associate of Arts Degree

Associate of Science Degrees

1. Completion of the requirements for an associate degree (see requirements 1 through 6).
2. Completion of a minimum of eighteen (18) semester units with at least a “C” (2.0) or better in each course in one of the following discipline-specific programs. (Refer to the particular discipline for requirements for each major.)

   Computer Information Systems - Associate of Science Degree
   Computer Science - Associate of Science Degree
   Emergency Medical Services - Associate of Science Degree
   Fire Technology - Associate of Science Degree
   Geography - Associate of Science Degree
   Geology - Associate of Science Degree
   Physics - Associate of Science Degree 
   Radiologic Technology - Associate of Science Degree
   Respiratory Care - Associate of Science Degree
