Academic Recognition Programs

Scholastic achievement, leadership, service, and character are recognized by Crafton Hills College through a variety of honors and awards.

Deans' List

A scholastic achievement list is prepared twice each year, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recognition is based on GPA earned during the individual semester, as opposed to cumulative GPA. The Deans’ List is comprised of those students who complete 12 or more units in a primary semester with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Only units earned at Crafton Hills College will be used in calculating a student’s GPA for the Deans’ List.

Graduating with Distinction

Students graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above at the end of the term in which they have applied for graduation are recognized as graduating with distinction.

Graduating with Distinction is awarded to students who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.50-3.99.

Graduating with Highest Distinction is awarded to students who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 4.0.

Distinction at Commencement

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher at the end of the preceding fall term will be eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony with distinction. However, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher at the end of the term in which they have applied to graduate to be eligible for the above listed distinction classifications. These students will have a notation added to their transcripts indicating such and are eligible to purchase and wear a gold sash at the Commencement.

Credits earned from other institutions will be included with the credits earned at Crafton Hills College when calculating the student’s cumulative GPA for graduation. For a guide to calculating a GPA, please refer to the How to Calculate Your GPA section of this catalog.
