Health and Wellness Center

The Student Health Services department contributes to the well-being and educational aims of the students through health services and education. Students who are at a high level of health and wellness are better able to pursue their academic goals. Students who pay the heath fee at the time of registration may use campus health services. A small fee is charged at the time of service for lab tests, physicals, and some prescription medications dispensed at the Health Center.

  • Mental Health Services

Crisis intervention, short-term mental health therapy for stress, support groups, and individual therapy sessions for anxiety, bipolar disorders, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, or any other emotional issues the student may experience. Referrals to higher levels of management are also available.

  • Clinical Services

Identify and treat most common ailments and diseases, ordering lab tests, physical exams, contraception or birth-control, immunizations and titers, test and treat for STDs and first aid for minor injuries.

  • Screening Services

Screening services include STDs, diabetes, thyroid, pap smears, etc. The center also conducts hearing, vision, TB, and blood pressure screens.

  • Health Education and Promotion

Annual health fairs include education on substance abuse and quitting referral services, sexual assault prevention, and nutrition and weight management.
