Minimum Admission Requirements

Those requirements listed below represent the minimums required by the UC system as a whole. Most campuses require a higher GPA, and specific major prep coursework to be considered a competitive applicant. Following a Student Educational Plan (SEP) created with a counselor will help to stay on track towards meeting transfer requirements.

Transfer students are required to have the following completed prior to transfer:

  • 60 UC transferrable units
  • Completion of the seven-course pattern with a “C” or better
    • English Composition
    • Critical Thinking
    • Quantitative Reasoning
    • Four (4) transferrable courses chosen from at least two (2) of the following subject areas:
      • Arts & Humanities
      • Social & Behavioral Sciences
      • Physical & Biological Sciences
  • Overall minimum GPA of 2.4
  • Be in good standing at all colleges or universities previously attended
