Teacher Certificate of Achievement
The objective of this certificate is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create and facilitate high quality early learning environments that promote optimal child development.
Completion of the following 25.00 units qualifies the student for the Teacher Certificate. Upon completion of this coursework, plus additional GE units and field experience OR the completion of the AA Degree in Child Development, the student will qualify for the Child Development Permit issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

A student receiving a certificate in this field will be able to:
- Exceed the Title 22 requirements for Teacher level employment in private sector programs
- Meet Title 5 requirements for teacher level employment in funded programs when adding 16 specified units of General Education
- Design, implement and evaluate environments that support positive developmental play and learning
- Design, implement and evaluate activities that support positive developmental plan and learning outcomes for young children
