Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher Certificate of Achievement

The TK Certificate prepares elementary school teachers to create and implement developmentally appropriate environments and curriculum for preschool aged children in Transitional Kindergarten(TK)classrooms.

Length of completion: 10 months total (2 semesters / 1 academic year, full-time at 12 units per semester)

A student receiving a certificate in this field will be able to:

1. Identify characteristics of development during the preschool years as they relate to growth and learning in math, science, literacy, emotions, and social interaction.
2. Utilize early childhood observation and assessment tools.
3. Create and implement developmentally appropriate learning environments in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms.
