Home Health Aide

This program is approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Licensing and Certification Division. Completion of the program ensures that the student has completed the requirements for certification as a Home Health Aide. Students must successfully complete the non-credit courses HHA 100 and HHA 101 concurrently. A minimum grade of pass in both courses is required.

Must be 18 years old or older. Must attend a mandatory information session, once provisionally accepted, must attend a mandatory orientation, meet all health requirements, and clear background check. Must be 18 years or older. No high school or GED required. Active CA CNA certification is required unless a recent graduate of the Crafton Hills College CNA program (within 1 month).

A student receiving a certificate in this field will be able to:

  • Explain the Federal and State regulations governing home health aides in California.
  • Deliver basic personal care and nutritional services to clients while improving and adapting to the home environment.
  • Apply theoretical concepts learned to interpret medical and social needs of clients in a home care setting.
